The 'Yo-kai Watch' series will be receiving a new anime series titled 'Yokai Watch♪' that will begin airing on the 9th of April. This new series will be a reboot of the original 2014 series and the same staff will be returning to work in this new series. Yo-kai Watch follows the elementary schooler, Keita Amano after he by coincidence receives the Yo-kai Watch. The Yo-kai Watch allows him to see the many Yo-kai that wander around the Earth. Sometimes these Yo-kai, however, can cause a lot of trouble for humans. As a result Keita has to, with the assistance of his Yo-kai friends, deal with those Yo-kai that cause trouble. The anime series from 2014 aired a few months after the first 'Yo-kai Watch' game was released for the Nintendo 3DS system. The game was well received but its sales were modest at first. However, once the anime began its sales immediately skyrocketed. The anime was an instant hit with Japanese audiences, the cute Yo-kai designs inspired by creatures from Japanese folklore charmed many children in Japan at the time. The explosive popularity of the anime helped the series become a huge multi-media hit with Yo-kai Watch toys and plushies of Yo-kai monsters becoming highly sought out items for children and adults alike. It reached such a level of stardom that it was seen as a Pokemon successor. Alongside the TV anime, the franchise also expanded into treaters. Its first movie, 'Yo-kai Watch: The Movie' was one of the highest grossing films in Japan in 2015 reaching a total of over ¥7.8 billion during its run in cinemas. However, the series over time saw its popularity decline. The sales figures of the games as well as its merchandise declined alongside the viewership of the anime which led it to eventually end in 2018. Why is it returning Now? This is not the first time Yo-kai Watch is rebooting its anime series. After the first series ended in 2018 it ventured into a more adult orientated version of the series with 'Yo-kai Watch Shadowside.' This venture did not revive interest in the series and it ended soon after. It then tried to return to the original 'Yo-kai Watch' story back in 2019. However, this return did not rejuvenate interest in the series and it ended within the same year. After that failure, the Yo-kai Watch anime came to focus onto a spin off story, 'Yo-Kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Watch Academy: Close encounters of the N Kind' which followed on from the latest Yo-kai Watch film in 2019 'Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Watch Academy Y: Can a Cat Become A Hero?' which once again took the series way from its origins in an attempt to try and rekindle interest in the series. However, the sudden announcement of Yo-kai Watch♪ spells the end for the currently airing 'Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Watch Academy Y: Close encounters of the N Kind' anime and highlights instead a 180 degree turn back to the original series concept from 2014. Will the return of Keita and his friends, this time, finally revive the series?

In The Land of Leadale written by Ceez and illustrated by Tenmaso was like many isekai series published in Narou no Shousetsuka first and then became a successful light novel and manga series published by Enterbrain in its Famitsu Bunko label. It is officially published in english by Yen Press. It is an incredibly fun slice of life series and one that through its anime I hope many more people can discover. After a horrific accident put her on life support, the last vestige of freedom Keina Kagami had was in the VRMMORPG World of Leadale. When she wakes up in the body of her game avatar, though, Keina-now Cayna-finds that the worries of her old life appear to be a thing of the past, but somehow this new land doesn't seem to be quite the Leadale she remembers...
